Better known to his friends as 'Walo', Willyam Cardenas was obsessed with paramotoring from the first time he saw a paramotor. He was on the highway at the time, and he pulled off and followed the pilot into a field to ask him about it. From that day on, he had a date with the sky! Fast forward about four years and he got training. "I was so scared but determined to do it. I am literally terrified of heights!" The first 150 flights were taking off, circling and landing, practice, practice, practice until it was second nature. After a year, the real fun began: Egypt, Thailand and various states, he travelled all over to fly. "I have met so many great people in this sport and pretty much all of my friends now are pilots. We are a family and I owe this sport so much". Walo's wife Ariana is a pilot too, and his son Blaze is 10 years old and is training to become one, with several tandems with Walo under his belt, and small tows. "I chose BGD because they make quality products and the team is amazing, I’ve always been treated great by every member of the BGD family and that’s the most important to me and of course the colours! The colours of BGD wings in the sky are so in your face you always know it’s a BGD flying!" Walo's goals and objectives focus on competition, especially slalom and acro, and hike-and-fly and adventures with his wife.
