AKA: BlaiseinSky
Blaise Brogan was born with adventure in his blood, his dad was in the SAS and his mum a flying doctor. Family life was always about adventure. From 14 to 20 years old he worked as a windsurf and water sports instructor, moving on to yacht deliveries around Greece. He then started his own tree surgery business and property company.
Seeing a picture of a paraglider when he was 10 years old, after a bungee jump in New Zealand, he thought, ‘I’ve got to try that one day!’ After the first flight in 2009 he was hooked for life. He is now involved in guiding and paramotoring around the world, also competing in endurance and adventure competitions.
Blaise works for Miniplane Paramotors, Rise Paragliding, FlySpain and Freeflight Academy in guiding and social media management.
He is married to Amy and has two wonderful children, Kai and Calli, who are keen budding pilots. Kai loves all sports, especially football but is talented with a glider; picking up groundhandling in minutes. Calli flies tandem with Blaise and loves BGD gliders for their bright colours.
‘I remember seeing my first BGD glider and thinking wow! It was a surprisingly long time before I got the chance to fly one, I flew the Epic in the sand dunes at Matalascanas and loved it. When I jumped on the Luna2 I felt at home straight away. It's a perfect combination of speed, handling and efficiency that allowed me to compete against the best pilots whilst maintaining my strict margins of safety.’
Blaise’s goal is to create adventure expeditions with friends and push pilot safety with advanced training.
